Who is Jesus? – Jesus’ Divinity Decoded

“It is better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it.” – Joseph Joubert

Every now and then I come across people who want to know whether Christ is Divine or some people who say Jesus never claimed Divinity. Time and time again I have given irrefutable evidence from Scripture about His Divinity and His claims, Most of which I have written here in this article. I am very thankful to people who seek to know the truth, I am not offended by their questions or comments, but rather very strengthened as all this helps me to know and to trust the reliability of Jesus.

This article is for all Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and as well as for skeptics or seekers of the Truth.

Jesus’ Divinity Decoded

Jesus said : “I and My God are One.” ~ John 10:30

Jesus said : “Before Abraham was I Am.” ~ John 8:58

Jesus said : “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.” John 14:7

Jesus said : “I am in The Father and The Father is in Me.” ~ John 14:10-11

Jesus Said : “I watched Satan Fall from Heaven as lighting.”  ~ Luke 10:18. Who can say this but the One who has been to heaven and back and saw this happen.

Jesus Prayed : “Holy Father,
protect them by Your name
that You have given Me,
so that they may be one as We are one.
While I was with them,
I was protecting them by Your name
that You have given Me.
I guarded them and not one of them is lost,
except the son of destruction,
so that the Scripture may be fulfilled.” – John 17:11-12

God’s Name is Jesus’s Name. ref. to John 17:11

“When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.Matthew 28:17-18

The people said he was making himself equal with God….Now why would they think that ? Jesus further said. The father can raise the Dead and give life, The Son too can raise the Dead and give Life, The Father judges no one and has left all judgement unto the SonAll men should honour the Son Just as they honour the Father. – John 5:18-23

After Thomas touched the wound of Jesus and believed…He said “My Lord and My God”  –John 20:28

The wise men: “On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.Matthew 2:11

“We aren’t stoning You for a good work,” the Jews answered, “but for blasphemy, because You — being a man — make Yourself God. – John 10:33

Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. – John 14:13. Only God can Claim to do anything and everything, for He alone is worthy.

When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone? – Mark 2:5-7

For a child will be born for us,
a son will be given to us,
and the government will be on His shoulders.
He will be named
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6

Notice here there is a Child who is Born, a son. He is called the Counsellor (Holy Spirit’s title in the new testament), The Mighty God, The Eternal Father, The Prince of Peace (Jesus’ Title). Question: How can a Child be Born and Yet be Called Mighty God: Everlasting Father ? All these passages is pointing to Jesus who was God in the Flesh.

John Chapter One Summary: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and lived among us.” – John 1

In closing I quote the words of St. Paul:

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created:things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”Colossians 1:15-20

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with GodBut made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every nameThat at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:3 – 11
